Dog Park In Oscar Frazier Park “A GO”

It looks like the “Friends of Bluffton Dog Park” will finally have a dog park in the Bluffton Park neighborhood.  The Bluffton Town Council voted in favor of continuing the development at Oscar Frazier Park.  Some of the residents of Bluffton Park are upset, bu the majority agrees this is the perfect location.  The owners association and the dog park group are encouraged to meet so they can resolve any concerns.  This is great news for Dog Lovers needing another place to allow their dogs to roam free.

If you are looking for a dog park on Hilton Head, there is one at the Chaplin Community Park.  There are some plantations here which have added dog parks such as Long Cove and Belfair, and I imagine there may be more to come.  Go to this link for more information about the Hilton Head dog park :

Hilton Head Island Attractions

When visiting Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, there are few attractions that are a must.

If you are not staying in Sea Pines Plantation, it will cost you $6 to go through the Gate, but the Harbour Town Marina and the Lighthouse needs to be one of your highlights to see during your vacation.  The Harbour Town Marina, modeled after a famous Harbour in Portofino, Italy offers 100 slips which are either for rent or for sale and the slips can house boats up to 150ft long.  Located in the heart of Harbour Town, the marina gives boaters access to wonderful amenities and accommodations if desired.  While you are visiting the Harbour Town Marina, plan on seeing our Sea Pines icon, Gregg Russell, entertain children and adults under the Liberty Oak in Harbour Town June 1st-August 22nd, every night beginning at 8pm with exception of Saturdays.  https://www.seapines.com/resort_activities/harbour_town/harbour-town-yacht-basin.aspx

The Harbour Town Lighthouse may be one of Hilton Head Island’s most well known Landmarks.  Make sure you take a trip to the top of the red & white Lighthouse where you will see and read about the history of Hilton Head Island and then take in the most amazing views of the island at the top of the Lighthouse.  https://www.seapines.com/resort_activities/harbour_town/lighthouse.aspx

Another sight to see in Sea Pines is the Salty Dog Café and South Beach Marina.  It seems that no matter where you may travel in the world, you will always see somewhere wearing a Saltydog T-shirt.  Purchase one of their famed t-shirts while sitting outside overlooking the South Beach Marina sipping on a Mango Smoothie and maybe hop on the Gypsy Boat for a dolphin cruise.  http://saltydog.com/

Do not miss Harbour Fest which takes place in Shelter Cove, across the street from Palmetto Dunes.  The Shelter Cove fireworks takes place every Tuesday evening from May 24th to September 2nd at 6:30pm.  This is such a fun night with Shannon Tanner singing, Cappy the Clown entertaining the young kids, with lots of arts, crafts, food items for sale, and then the fireworks at the end for the finale.  This is a fun night for all of the family.  http://www.palmettodunes.com/harbourfest-hilton-head.php

Visit the Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn to learn about the natural history and cultural heritage of the Low Country.  This is a great activity for the entire family.

Pinckney Island is a national wildlife refuge surrounded by the Intracoastal Waterway, Mackay Creek, and the Port Royal Sound.  Open to the public, you will see a diversity of wildlife along with freshwater ponds and the salt marsh.
